This is what I did with my 2-year-olds in about 20 minutes:
- Opening: We wave and say hello, we wave and say hello, with our friends at Music Time, we wave and say hello! to the melody of Farmer in the Dell. Switch out wave for pat/clap/stomp/twirl/sit/nod/smile/etc.
- Song: Five little Speckled Frogs. Before we started I put out a big piece of wood for the log, a blue scarf for the pond, and five frogs from a Hoppin' Frog game I found in the storage. Whenever a frog jumped into the pond and under the scarf, we sang Now there were 1, 2, 3, 4! 4 more speckled frogs. We also wiggled our fingers, which was fun to watch.
- Chant: Frog in the Meadow. We hopped around at the end of each repetition and croaked like frogs - good to get some movement in!
- Song: The Itsy Bitsy Spider. To spice up the repetition we let a mommy, daddy, and baby spider go up the water spout as well.
- Movement: Waltz in A Flat by Brahms. I busted out my colorful scarves and left the rest to the kids. Some danced, some threw it in the air, I blew on them to keep them up. Fun!
- Closing: Now it's time to say good bye 'cause music ends, now it's time to say good bye 'cause music ends, now it's time to say good bye, give a smile and wink your eye, now it's time to say good bye 'cause music ends! to the melody of She'll be Coming Round the Mountain.
